Final Blog!

I would like to call myself an active researcher seeing as though I go through large extents to help gather information from a number of valid sources to help broaden my research answers based around my questions to help form some sort of conclusion from it. I like researching from a broad number of resources including the Victoria University Library seeing as though there are countless forms of opinions and discussions regarding the research topic I am covering.

I like to collect data and basing a general consensus to inform people on such an important, ongoing topic.

Blog 8: Findings!

"What factors over due time tend to cause children to become emotionally unstable?"

My results through my surveys show that majority of children with single parents tend to typically have a more self aware attitude even at a younger attitude despite being all confused as to what is going on regarding family. This can tend to disrupt their learning and sense of welcome into their house seeing as though things are not the same as where they may have last left off.

Key Quote:

"I am so confused, things have been really different, nothing has been the same."

The findings through the interviews and surveys definitely correspond with the literature I have spoken about before because basic fundamentals such as a healthy upbringing with parents is key to a healthy and growing relationship which can be further extended with friends. Friends are also furthermore considered a basic fundamental seeing as though thoughts based around a childs mind can mentality shapes around friends.

No new themes have been discovered, all the topics that have been discovered have virtually been relapsed seeing as though such factors evidently are present regarding nature and nurture with almost each and every child.

Blog 7: Choice!

Survey questions:

When it comes to your child's mentality, how do you think being a single parent may effect his/her (participants child/childrens) thoughts?

Have you noticed any noticeable behavioural differences regarding your children?

Do you think it is important for a child to have basic fundamentals such as both parents, a healthy relationship with friends and a strict upbringing?

Through the case I would be providing a description based around the results provided by the survey that I will be gaining participants to contribute towards. I would furthermore discuss how nature and nurture both contribute either in a positive or negative fashion regarding a childs mentality through their up bring demonstrated in the surveys which the children will participate in.

Blog 6: The Introduction

The aim of the proposed research is to gain an insight regarding a child’s mentality more particularly focusing on nature versus nurture. Through it, the studies will particularly delve into such sub topics for instance child well being, environmental factors, up bring and various other topic that help contribute to either a positive of negative mindset over due time aimed towards children grown up.

For the purpose of this report, it is to further delve into these into all the enlisted discussion topics above to help provide a further insight regarding child mentality. It is believed that these topics are major contributions and further researching such topics can definitely help provide a much broader insight.

The intended out come is to show that nature and nurture are basic fundamentals regarding a childs mentality and how these aspects can severely effect the transition into adulthood. Furthermore through these studies, it would also be essential to demonstrate that this is an ongoing topic trying to help broaden the area of these particular studies for use further on.

Delving further into my Research Topic!

In todays class, have undertaken the following:

  • Learning how to use the Victorian University Library scheme for our research topics.
  • Shortening or making our searches to become more relevant.
As for the reading that I found most relevant regarding the discussion of 'Nature vs Nurture', I found an article entitled 'Nature and Nurture by Definition Means Both: A Response to Males'.

As for this article, it delves into relevant information discussing the obvious theme of nature vs nurture in a more in-depth discussion. Some ideas that are talked about are:

  • Child psychology.
  • Biological and social values.
  • Brain and risk taking.
  • The ideas are generated around a male aspect which can possibly be relatable seeing as I am a male and may be able to understand the writers contention and interests as to why males would have been chosen in particular.
  • Comparing environments.

This reading could possibly be involved in my future research topic discussion seeing as it is based around males that could be used for a comparison regarding females and who may have it harder in such instances, as explained earlier it is based upon males so I could possibly relate to it in such a degree. I could even try and search for a female version of the article to ensure differences and such aren't just being bias.

Understanding my topic.

Throughout this week, I was able to narrow down my research topic forming a few questions. Nature and nurture is such a broad topic that if I'm not able to produce a simple question focusing on a specific field, the research topic can incorporate countless themes and variables making it a difficult writing piece.

"How can positive and negative forms of nature and nurture reflect through an individual?"

I plan to surely base my writing piece either through a case study using materials and artefacts discovered by others or an interview. I feel an interview would be more beneficial because everyone's experiences in such a field can differ dramatically. I plan to further more use a few individuals from my tutorial classes to help assist me in contributing in such a project. As mentioned before everyone perceptions and upbringing is effected differently through nature vs. nurture.

Nature vs. Nurture!

Children are often reflections based on their parents, peers and social upbringing. The research topic that I'll attempt to cover to the best of my abilities will be "Nature versus Nurture". This topic interests me because it is a broad topic that can typically discuss a number of themes. These various factors can effect every single child differently producing different outcomes for every single child, no two children are exactly alike. For instance, in my research, I will be digging deep into such factors like socioeconomic status, background and family traditions or upbringings that can generally contribute to the well being of children.

Nature vs. Nurture!

Wellbeing.
Mentality.
Up-bringing.
Influences.
